Matthew Tuck, born January 20, 1980 in
Bridgend, South Wales. He plays rhythm guitar, as well as being lead
vocalist in the metalcore band Bullet for My Valentine. He can also
play drums, keyboards, the recorder and harmonica. Before he was in
Bullet for My Valentine he worked at a Virgin Megastore in Wales. He
also sang with Max Cavalera and Apocalyptica in Repressed which
appears in the Amplified / A Decade Of Reinventing The Cello album.
Matthew Tuck has cited Metallica as being his main musical influence.
At the age of 14, Tuck discovered the band through MTV where the
video for Enter Sandman was aired, which inspired him to begin
learning guitar.
He has also mentioned Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest,
Pantera and Megadeth.
During the November 2006 tour with As I Lay Dying and Protest The
Hero, Matt Tuck suffered from laryngitis which led to a number of
shows being postponed until early January. Doctor Adrik Grigorian is
currently treating him for recovery with Kara Hanshaw assisting him
as a nurse.
On 22 June 2007, it was announced that Matt needed a tonsillectomy
surgery and was forced to cancel all Bullet For My Valentine dates,
including dates supporting Metallica
